About Me
Dr Chen
In 1988, having completed 5 years of training, I gained a bachelors degree in traditional Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine from Chengdu university of traditional Chinese medicine, one of the oldest Chinese medicine universities in China. I then practiced at Chengdu Hospital of acupuncture for over two years before coming to Britain.
At King’s College London, I undertook further research in medical science, where I received a Masters degree in biomedical science.
While running a busy clinic, I continued to enhance my knowledge and skill by regularly going to courses and training. I also hold a diploma in Chinese dermatology and I am trained in Five Element acupuncture and Subcutaneous needling in addition to traditional acupuncture.
I have also participated in complimentary medicine modules for Leicester medical school students for three years. I have been interviewed by BBC Leicester Radio, lTV news and other local newspapers and radio stations.
In 1995 I established the Acuherb TCM clinic in Leicester. The clinic moved to its current address at Conway Road in 1997. Over 95% of my patients are from referrals, and through word of mouth.
Over 35 years of practice, I have helped thousands of patients with a wide range of diseases and ailments. My main focus is working with an individual to provide holistic effective treatment using acupuncture, herbal medicine and moxibustion to treat various complaints, conditions or emotional issues the patient is facing. My aim is to help patients to regain control of their health and to maintain physical and mental wellbeing.
